# First-party ownership and chain-of-title controls

Tyler Michael Bosworth claims ownership of qualifying original first-party contributions to Eidovara, including project direction, selection, coordination, arrangement, revisions, documentation, interface expression, and release materials. Soul Consciousness Studios is currently described as his intended publishing business name; it does not own intellectual property unless and until a formed entity receives it through a signed assignment.

## Repository controls

- Do not incorporate external contributions without a signed agreement identifying the work and the rights transferred.
- Preserve commit history, release tags, checksums, build attestations, dated design records, and source archives.
- Record the source, author, license, version, integrity hash, and required notices for every third-party dependency or asset.
- Keep unpublished inventions, credentials, private keys, customer records, contracts, assignment documents, and patent drafts outside the public repository.
- Use `™` for claimed marks; never use `®` before registration issues for the applicable goods or services.
- Do not describe a copyright notice, repository history, license, trademark claim, provenance attestation, or self-declaration as a government certificate.

## Boundaries of the claim

Overbroad ownership claims weaken the first-party record. Eidovara **does not** own the following layers (non-exhaustive):

| Layer | Whose rights | Notes |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Qualifying original first-party Eidovara expression | Claimed by Tyler Michael Bosworth | Notice and git history are evidence of a claim, not a court judgment or Copyright Office registration |
| Soul Consciousness Studios name | Intended publisher identity | Does not own IP until a formed entity receives a signed assignment |
| Electron | Electron contributors / OpenJS Foundation | MIT; redistributed runtime |
| Chromium | Chromium authors | Bundled with Electron; see `LICENSES.chromium.html` in Windows builds |
| Node.js | OpenJS Foundation and contributors | Bundled with Electron |
| Microsoft Windows | Microsoft | Official advertised platform; OS, APIs, and installed voices stay Microsoft's |
| Wikipedia / Wikimedia content | Wikimedia contributors | Retrieved on explicit request; those projects' licenses apply |
| User content and local media | The user | Using the app does not assign the user's files or prompts to the owner |
| Third-party marks and services | Their owners | Reference is not affiliation or a transfer of rights |

A public GitHub repository also carries GitHub's platform terms allowing viewing and forking through GitHub functionality. The repository license restricts additional use but cannot revoke rights already granted by law, third-party licenses, or the hosting platform's terms.

Copyright protects qualifying original expression, not the underlying idea, method, system, name, title, or algorithm. Patent inventorship depends on the claims of an application. Trademark rights depend on lawful use and distinctiveness and require clearance; this file is a recordkeeping control, not legal registration or a legal opinion.

Inbound copyrightable work is not first-party until a privately executed assignment. [CONTRIBUTOR_ASSIGNMENT.md](CONTRIBUTOR_ASSIGNMENT.md) is an unsigned template only. A GitHub pull request or fork does not create joint authorship or trademark rights, and does not permit relicensing first-party material as open source. First-party JavaScript in `src/` and `docs/` carries SPDX `LicenseRef-Eidovara-Source-Available-1.0` headers matching LICENSE.

## First-party schedule (claim, not registration)

## Before commercial launch

Have a qualified intellectual-property attorney review the source-available license, contributor assignment form (`docs/CONTRIBUTOR_ASSIGNMENT.md`, unsigned template), trademark search and filing strategy, copyright deposit strategy, patent disclosures, contractor agreements, and any transfer to a future company (`docs/ENTITY_IP_ASSIGNMENT.md`, unsigned template). Preserve signed originals in private storage with access logging and redundant backups. Do not commit executed agreements to this public repository.
